Eligibility Requirements

Find out if you qualify to practise dentistry in the United Kingdom. The following criteria and documents are required.

Basic Eligibility Criteria

A recognised dental degree (BDS, DDS, or equivalent) from an accredited institution

At least 1 year of post-graduation clinical experience recommended

English language proficiency (IELTS Academic overall 7.0 with no band below 6.5, or OET Grade B in all components)

Certificate of Good Standing from the dental council in your home country

No fitness-to-practise restrictions or unresolved disciplinary matters

Ability to obtain the right to work in the UK (visa eligibility)

Prepare the following documents before starting your application.

Valid passport with at least 6 months remaining validity

Dental degree certificate and academic transcript

IELTS or OET score certificate (within 2 years)

Certificate of Good Standing from your dental regulatory authority

Up-to-date curriculum vitae (CV)

Passport-size photographs

Two professional references from qualified dentists

Criminal record check or police clearance certificate
